Baseball 2010 Schedule
By Robert H. Pertsas, Baseball Commissioner

In a continuing effort to improve the level of competition and quality of baseball in the P.S.A.L., the 2010 schedule will feature changes to the current divisional alignment in Brooklyn and the Bronx. The P.S.A.L. is pleased to announce that two (2) teams will be elevated to the “B” Division.  Beginning first in the Bronx, due to their strong success in developmental league play, Morrisania Educational Campus and Bathgate Educational Campus  will now play in the “B“ Division. Both Schools will play in Bronx South. This will necessitate a move of H. S. Information & Network Technology from Bronx South to Bronx North.

Bronx “B” will now have two seven team divisions, the divisions are:

The terminal date for the 2010 season will be Sunday, May 23, 2010.
The 2010 playoff structure for “A” and “B” divisions will allow thirty-two (32) teams to qualify. The teams will be made up of the top three (3) teams from each division and two (2) at large teams in “A” and “B” Divisions to be selected by the Commissioner’s Seeding Committee. Each of the three divisional qualifiers must attain a .500 winning percentage. If this is not the case for any of the divisions, the position will become an at large berth.
The commissioner’s Seeding Panel will meet on Monday, May 24, 2010. The playoff will begin on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 for the “A” Division and Thursday, May 27, 2010 for the “B” Division.

All requests for schedule changes must be submitted to Robert H. Pertsas, Baseball Commissioner at RPertsas@schools.nyc.gov by Friday, December 11, 2009.
