The feature match up of the PSAL Tip Off Classic was everything it was advertised to be and more. The match up between 2004 playoff team, Wings Academy, and last year’s championship runner up, Cardozo, hung in the balance until the final seconds.

Wings Academy came out firing with pin point 3-point shooting that staked them to a nine point lead after 3 periods. Then the one-two punch of Cardozo’s Marques Cox and Vic Morris took the game over. Morris made several tough baskets on his way to scoring a game high 27 points. Cox contributed 14 points. Theo Davis pulled down 11 rebounds and had 6 blocked shots. Cardozo hung on to win by a final of 58-56.

In the earlier game Frederick Douglass Academy proved to be too much for Robeson and prevailed 64-52.
