Mayor’s Cup Cross Country Championship

Meet Information

 

This meet will bring together the cross country teams from the PSAL, CHSAA and AIS for a day of spirited competition for boys and girls. The schedule is below:

 

10:00 A.M – Freshman girls

10:15 A.M. – Freshman girls

1O:30 A.M. – Freshman boys

10:45 A.M. – Freshman boys

 

These are team races with awards for each race.  Entry is unlimited and there is no minimum number required for students to compete.  The field will be equally divided after entries close and schools will be placed in races to insure quality competition. Only the first five finishers from a school will score.  Others will displace.

 

The freshman distance is 1.5 miles.

 

The top three teams in each race will receive team plaques and t-shirts.  The top 35 individual finishers will receive medals.

 

11:10 A.M. – Championship Girls Race

11:30 A.M. – Championship Boys Race

 

This race is required for the highest finishers from the 2004 team cross championships.  PSAL – top 10, CHSAA – top 7, AIS – top 3 and any other team that wishes to enter this race. To appeal into the Championship race schools must notify bobmile@aol.com by 12 noon, Tuesday, September 27, 2005.

 

Race distance – 2.5 miles.

 

This is a team championship race, therefore a school must have at least 5 runners on the line in order to start the race.  (There is a maximum of 7 runners allowed per school.)

 

The Mayor’s Cup will be awarded to the boys and girls team champion. Second and third place teams will also receive team awards. The top five teams will receive t-shirts and team plaques.

 

The top 40 individual finishers will receive medals

11:50 A.M. – Girls Varsity Race

12:10 P.M. – Boys Varsity Race

 

Open to teams that did not qualify for the Championship race.  In order to be eligible for the team award a school must have at least five runners finish the course.  There is an entry limit of seven runners per school.

 

The race distance is 2.5 miles.

 

The top three teams will receive team plaques.  Medals will also be awarded to the first 40 finishers.

 

12:30 P.M. – Junior varsity Girls

12:50 P.M. – Junior Varsity Boys

 

Open to those schools that started a seven person team in either the championship or varsity races.

 

The race distance is 2.5 miles.

 

Entry is unlimited.  The first five runners from a school will score, the others will displace.

 

 

The first three teams will receive team plaques. The top fifty runners will receive medals.

 

The roster deadline for non PSAL schools is 12 noon, Tuesday, September 27, 2005.  Rosters must be e-mailed to SIRunning@aol.com.

 

Races will end at the Broadway finish line.
