Be on top of your game and join host Vinny Aceto "On the Sidelines" every Friday at 1 PM. Aceto brings you all the hard hitting interviews, expert commentary, insider news, locker room insights, and up-to-the-minute scores and schedules. Remember to be a part of the game and we'll see you "On the Sidelines," your ticket to High School sports in New York City.  If you can’t get to a radio, catch the live stream on the web at www.nyc.gov/radio.

We are fast approaching the finish line for the PSAL football regular season. For some its win and you’re in, while others need to be victorious and get a little help from their friends.  Week 9 kicks off with a Halloween afternoon affair and two Saturday evening pre-marathon fixtures.  Sunday features big games with street and road closures so that people can jog all over the five boroughs. Numerous teams will vie for their playoff lives while others look to secure a high seed and a first round home game.  We project (it is election season) the Championship Division Sweet 16 and Bowl Playoff Participants. Stay Tuned!

As is our weekly tradition, we’ll examine last week’s outcomes and preview this weekend’s contests, plus take a look at our final “Radio NYC 91.5 FM Top 10 Football Poll” of the season.  We will get you up to speed with some playoff possibilities on a special PSAL Pigskin Playoff Prelude edition of the Award Winning "On the Sidelines" with Vinny Aceto, Friday, October 31, 2008 at 1:00 PM.  If you can’t get to a radio, catch the live stream on the web at www.nyc.gov/radio.  You can also listen to past shows on demand here:  http://www.nyc.gov/html/nycmg/wnyefm/html/whatson/sports.shtml.

Each week during the season Pete Gambardella drops by in our special feature ‘A Year in the Life of Curtis HS Football.'  In our rap session with the coach this week we chat about the massive regular season finale with Port Richmond and the battle for the top seed in upcoming City Championship Division Playoffs.

In our “chalk talk” segment we’ll talk to Time Warner Cable’s play-by-play voice Nick Legakis as he gets ready to call the game of the year when Curtis hosts Port Richmond on Sunday for the top seed in the PSAL playoffs.

Then, we’ll talk Queens football with Bayside coach Jason Levitt as he previews their Sunday school meeting with Campus Magnet.
